Find a VSO or Accredited Representative
One of the most impactful steps you can take — especially if you are filing your first claim or appealing a denial — is to connect with a free, accredited representative. They can help prepare, file, and track your claim at no cost.
Types of Accredited Representatives
There are three types of accredited representatives recognized by the VA. Each can assist with your claim, but they differ in scope and cost.
Veterans Service Organization (VSO)
Accredited representatives from organizations like DAV, VFW, American Legion, and others. They help prepare, file, and track claims.
Claims Agent
Accredited individuals who can assist with claims preparation and filing.
VA-Accredited Attorney
Attorneys who specialize in VA claims and appeals, particularly useful for Board Appeals and complex cases.
